Men's Soccer WINS Mideast Regional Championship
Louisville, KY: On November the 6th the Men's Soccer team made history for Boyce Athletics in winning the first Mideast Regional Tournament in the schools history. The Bulldogs came into the tournament as the #4 seed. On Thursday they took down Appalachain Bible College 5-1 in the Quarterfinal game. The Bulldogs were lead by Yonelson Alvarez with 2 goals. Moving into the Semi-finals the Bulldogs would be facing the #1 seed Grace Christian. This season the Bulldogs were 0-2 against the Tigers losing combined 14-2. But on this Friday night Boyce would come out and play a strong match notching 5 goals with Yonelson Alvarez and Mathew Protzman both hitting in 2 goals a piece. The Bulldogs would hold off a late charge by Grace to win 5-3 and move into the Championship match on Saturday.
The Mideast Regional Championship would be against #2 seed CU Harrodsburg. The Bulldogs came out strong and scored early on a free kick just 6 minutes into the match by Yonelson Alvarez. Mathew Protzman and Caleb Sites would kick in a goal each late in the first half to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead at halftime. Caleb Sites would hit his second goal of the match early in the 50th minute of the match giving the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead. Harrodsburg would get a goal midway into the 2nd half before Boyce would get 2 more goals late in the half to win 6-1 and the Region Championship! The Bulldogs were lead by Yonelson Alvarez and Caleb Sites with 2 goals each.
1st Team All-Region Yonelson Alvarez had a great 3 day tournament kicking in 6 goals to go along with 1st Team All-Region Mathew Protzman kicking in 3 goals.

The Bulldogs were given the #5 seed at nationals and will be facing #1 Bob Jones at 3:00pm on Tuesday, Nov. 16th and #4 Manhattan at 3:00pm on Wednesday, Nov. 17th. The NCCAA finals will be on Saturday, Nov. 20th at 5:30 pm.
