Coach Isaac Buckner Named Head Cross Country Coach

Boyce Athletics is excited to announce that Coach Isaac Buckner has been named the Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach. Coach Buckner comes to Boyce with a lot of running experience and enthusiasm to help start this new program. 

Coach Buckner will be moving to Louisville this fall to attend SBTS and pursue a M.Div degree. He is from Morganton, NC but first started running competitively during his middle and high school years in South Carolina, earning multiple All-Region honors. Coach Buckner graduated from Libery University with a BA in Biblical Studies. While at Liberty Coach was the President of the Ultrarunning club and began pursuing ultrarunning. He has since completed four ultramarathons, two marathons and numerous shorter races. Coach's experience with various running communities and teams has equipped him to serve with Boyce Athletics. 

Coach Buckner said, "I am honored to join the Boyce College Athletics community as Head Cross Country Coach. I have personally witnessed the value quality Cross Country teams can have on both individuals and institutions. As we begin to build this program, I pray that we will faithfully steward the platform God has given us for the sake of the Gospel. I am excited to invest in athletes this fall and seek to develop runners who honor and glorify Christ above all else." 

Director of Athletics Coach McCarty added, "We at Boyce College are excited for Coach Buckner to lead our first team of Men's and Women's Cross Country. Coach brings a lot of experience from his background of running competitively and his love for the Lord. His desire to grow our student-athletes in running and in the Lord is a great combination that fits our Boyce Athletics mission."
